Copaiba is an imposing tree that can reach a height of 35 meters. It grows in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest, in Colombia, Peru and Venezuela. The copaiba tree produces an oily resin called "balm of the Amazon", from which the essential oil is extracted.
ThereCopaifera officinalisis an evergreen tree native to Central and South America, it blooms best in the habitats of humid tropical forests but also grows in forests where the climate is drier. Resin (oleoresin) is extracted by draining from the bark of these trees, similar to extracting maple sap.
