Inaromatherapy, is used asantidepressant, soothing, balancing of thenervous system,as a decongestant against icoldsand theinfluence. It is also considered effective for lowering theblood pressure, to reduce problemsdigestiveand it is mixed with other homeopathic substances to treat back pain and earache.

The common name "lavender" with which we are used to calling these plants (but also the scientific one Lavandula) has been received in the Italian language from the Latin gerund of the verb "to wash" (Lavender, Lavender, Lavender = to be washed) to allude to the fact that these species were widely used in antiquity, especially in the Middle Ages, to cleanse the body.

Lavender has been known since ancient times for its antiemetic, antiseptic, analgesic, bactericidal, vasodilatory, antineuralgic, muscle pain and is considered a sedative. Lavender essential oil is the most widely used essential oil in perfumery.

Antiseptic, if diluted in intimate detergent or in internal douching, it counteracts the affections of the genitourinary system, such ascystitis.Antispasmodic, calms abdominal pain and spasms and can be beneficial in case ofmenstrual cramps(However, it is to be avoided in case of heavy menstruation).

Anti-inflammatory, analgesic, used in massage lotions and oils, relieves pain caused by muscle tears andrheumatismand helps in lymphatic stagnation caused by the presence of cellulite.

Cicatrizing, it is employed on the skin, toochildren's skin, as an excellent remedy in case of burns, wounds, sores, bringsrelief in the presence of insect bites,sunburn, irritation caused by jellyfish.

Childhood ailments is a great essence for children:colic, irritability, colds, night restlessness, can be relieved by a massage on the neck or chest with lavender essential oil or with a few drops of the essence placed on the pillow or in the diffuser.

How to use:

Diffusion: 3 - 5  drops of lavender essential oil in an ultrasonic diffuser  to relieve anxiety, headache, nervous tension, stress, insomnia.

Topical use: Use 2 drops of lavender essential oil diluted in coconut fractionated oil to massage the abdomen of babies in case of colic or to relieve insect bites and minor burns.

Internal use: 1 - 2 drops under the tongue or take in capsules. It can be used in drinks or as a flavoring in the kitchen.

Toning bath:mix 10 drops with epsom salt and add to the water,then immerse yourself for 20 minutes to take advantage of the relaxing and decongestant action for the muscular system, for rheumatic and joint pain
