The botanical name of celery is Apium Graveolens. It is a biennial or annual herbaceous plant, which grows spontaneously in swampy and grassy soils. It has small white flowers in umbrellas. The fruits are seeds for phytotherapeutic use. The essential oil of celery is concentrated mainly in the seeds and is extracted by steam distillation. Celery is renowned for its complex, strong, sweet and spicy aroma. The plant takes two years to reach full maturity and produces small brown or light brown fruits.
Celery seeds have well-known medicinal properties, from them a essential oil which owns depurative properties, helps to remove stains on the skin and has a stimulating and tonic action on the whole organism. Celery seeds are especially rich in antioxidants. They contain flavonoids, coumarin, omega-6 fatty acids, linoleic acid and minerals such as calcium, iron, sodium and zinc.
Celery essential oil is rich in limonene and salts, coumarins and flavonoids. Contains important mineral salts such as sodium and chlorine and vitamins C, B6 and K.

How to use
Diffusion: pour two drops into the diffuser
Topical: Dilute 2 drops in dōTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil
Internal: Dilute one drop in 125 ml of liquid, place 1 drop under the tongue, take the oil in capsules, use in the kitchen
